Sacred Heart Parish Welcomes You!

Welcome to Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish

Welcome to the Sacred Heart Parish Family on behalf of Fr. Dave Fleck, our Administrator, and Fr. Dave Martin, our Associate Pastor, and all the members of our parish! We are located in Vincennes, Indiana, and for over 100 years we have been part of the one, universal, Catholic Church united with the Pope, and with our bishop in the diocese of Evansville, Indiana. We share in the mission of the Church, which is the salvation of all souls.

If you are new to Sacred Heart Parish, or would like more information about our parish, about the Catholic Faith, or about growing in faith and receiving the Sacraments, please click here.

We are dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who knows the depths of His Father's Love, and so reveals to us the abyss of His Mercy (c.f. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1439).

The Eucharistic Sacrifice is the source and life of our parish. When the bread becomes the Body of Christ, those who receive it also become one body in Christ. When the wine is transformed into His Blood, so also are those who receive it transformed. The command to "do this in remembrance of me" is not simply a recollection of a past event, but a promise of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ, and a call to live out, even today, the life we have in Christ.

Giver of Life
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, guide us through each day…
We are yours in word, and deed, and everything we pray…
You know our hearts are willing, and we know our life is yours…
Protect all those we love this day, in any spiritual wars…
Thank you for the gift of life, may we never doubt your love…
For every grace and blessing, we seek from God above…
This day and ever more…Amen

Year of the Mass

“A Biblical Walk through the Mass”

Bible/Mass Study Small Groups were a great chance this past Lent for many of our parishioners to learn and share insights about the Holy Mass and the Holy Bible.  44 people took a deeper look at the Bible through the lens of the Mass, and a deeper look at the Mass through the lens of the Bible.  Thanks to all those who signed up.  Thanks also to those who wanted to be a part, but could not continue.  May God bless us all with a deeper faith as we continue this "Year of the Mass" at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish!

See what the U.S. Catholic Bishops have to say about the new translation.  Click on the book.
